THE GROWTH OF AN ORANGE TREE

Do you know what I am ? Today I am going to talk about myself. I am an orange tree . I grow from a tiny little seed which come from a fruit .The seed has to be planted immediately. If not, the seed will not be any good. The best germination method is the soil method. I cannot grow unless I have good soil, along with the right amount of warmth and water. Water the seed just enough to make the soil damp not so much that the soil becomes over soaked. The seed have been buried in the  ground .

The sun above warm the soil but the seed has to be kept moist until it sprout. The seed need a temperature range of about 21 to 25 degree Celsius to germinate and typically take about two weeks to do so . The seed’s coat or skin splits open. My tiny root pushes out the bottom of the seed. In a few days, the coat completely split and the cotyledons, the embryonic leaves unfurled.

Next my stem with leaves pushes out the top . I start growing upward .  I get energy from food stored in the seed . The stem breaks through the soil . The leaves uncurl. I grow taller and grow taller and taller and grow more leaves . Once several true leaves appeared, I am put in a mix of potting soil , a little peat moss and about 50 % coarse sand. Orange tree like very well-drained, slightly acidic soil. They begin making food from the sun. I have sprouted into a healthy young plant.

I continue to grow and grow until it  is big enough to produce my own fruit. When this occurs. I’ll be able to harvest the oranges and make juice, jam, syrup , or any other kind of treat that you wish.
